Adopted ❤️❤️❤️
Meet Nelson! He is a purebred standard poodle. He is red in color and absolutely stunning! He turned 1 year of age on 3/1/25. He weighs 34 lbs. Yes, he is full grown and at a very healthy weight. He is just a smaller framed male 💙 He is neutered, microchipped, current on all of his one year vaccines, had a dental cleaning done, along with an exam with our vet who has officially cleared him to find a home all his own 😊
I can't say ENOUGH good things about our SWEET boy Nelson 😊 He is an absolute SWEETHEART of a boy and LOVES with ALL of his HEART ❤️ He is kind, and so very loving. His tail is always wagging, especially at first sight of his human. He is excited every single morning to start his day with you!! He is so incredibly smart, and has made working with him such a joy on our end, and while we will miss him we are so happy to be part of this journey in finding him the best home possible with someone who will become his VERY best friend 😊
He is WONDERFUL with other dogs and cats alike. He has a very beautifully natured demeanor. He loves to play, so if you have another sweet natured animal in your home that would love a brother he would be your guy!! If you don't have any other animals I'm certain he would be just as happy knowing all attention is on him 💙
He is very well mannered. He is great in our home, and if he isn't playing with another dog, he is lounging on a bed near by just hanging out or napping until something interesting starts happening and that could literally mean his person getting up to grab a drink (because that means they are closer to his snacks and who doesn't need a midday treat 😂.)
He is GREAT on road trips of any kind! He loves traveling and will lounge in the back seat napping away while he occasionally checks on you to make sure you are okay 😊 He is PERFECT at the groomers, and LOVES coming back home all fresh and handsome 💕
He is crate trained and currently sleeps in the crate at night only. He goes right in when we tell him it's bedtime and sleeps all night very peacefully. He could definitely transition to a bed aside yours, if that's where you would like him as he is very easy to please. He lounges throughout the day on dog beds throughout our home, so he is already accustomed to having that available outside of the crate so letting that lead into the bedroom probably would make his heart very content knowing he doesn't have to wait til morning to see his favorite person again!
Leash training is new, as it's something that wasn't introduced to him in his prior home. He does slowly follow you when you talk to him while guiding him, especially in new places. He is a smart boy and will gain more and more confidence the more practice he gets so he will definitely need more leash training in his next home, but I assure you it'll be easy once he understands the joy navigating the world outside of his home brings.
House training is going beautifully! We take him out every couple of hours, and if he needs to potty he will if not, he will walk right back inside with you. He doesn't have any accidents in between, and always waits to be let out so I would recommend a good routine in his next home to ❤️
His owner fell on VERY hard times financially and lost her home from under her. She took both of her poodles to stay with a friend but she lived in an apartment herself and had her own pets so their time was limited from the beginning as it wasn't meant to be a permanent situation for them. With no end in sight of her financial troubles, she couldn't take them back in the end so they reached out to us to take them in and find a wonderful home.
His adoption fee is 2000.
It covers his neuter. He also had a dental cleaning done that needed additional anesthesia time, along with antibiotics that were administered to aid in the healing of both his neuter and dental. He also received his yearly vaccines, was microchipped, had a thourel exam with our vet which included an ear exam (both of which were in great health!) and has officially been cleared by our vet to find a home all his own,
As always his adoption fee also goes back into the months of care he has received since with us here, along with his grooming costs, and training we have personally done with him 💙
