Meet our sweet boy Monte. He is a purebred Shih Tzu who turns 2 years of age at the end of December 2025. Monte has a peaceful way about him — steady, loyal, and full of quiet charm. He’s one of those dogs who doesn’t have to try to be special; he simply is.
Monte came into our care with Mia after their family faced ongoing challenges keeping them safely contained at home. Their gate was brand new, but the openings were just too wide for these two little ones, and clever as they are, they quickly learned how to slip right through. Their family adored them but, living in a rental, they weren’t allowed to make modifications to close the gaps. Wanting only the best for their dogs, they made the loving decision to ask for our help in finding them safe, stable homes where they would be cherished for life.
While Monte and Mia came in together, they do not need to be adopted as a pair. Monte is perfectly content being the center of attention in his very own home. He loves one-on-one time with his people and thrives when he knows he’s truly part of the family.
He isn’t high energy and he isn’t a barker. Monte has a calm, affectionate personality that brings peace wherever he goes. He loves to cuddle, sit beside you quietly, and just be part of your day. He’ll happily follow you from room to room, his little paws padding softly behind you, just wanting to be near.
Monte sleeps peacefully through the night and keeps a gentle routine. He’s comfortable in his crate, but he’ll never turn down the chance to curl up next to his person if invited. He’s great with other dogs and adjusts easily in new settings, always keeping his calm nature and kind heart at the center of who he is.
He’s one of those dogs who make life feel a little softer — the kind of companion who fills a home not with noise, but with warmth and love. His loyalty is quiet but constant, and once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll have his heart forever. 🤍
His adoption fee is $1,500.
It covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip/registration, full veterinary exam, and the months of care, grooming, and love we have poured into him while he has been with us.
