Pending adoption for our January 2026 East Coast Trip 💗
Ellie is a one-year-old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie mix) with a soft, straight, hypoallergenic coat and a gentle, peaceful presence that’s felt the moment she’s near you. She currently weighs approximately 7 pounds, with her exact weight to be updated following her upcoming veterinary exam and spay.
Ellie came to us through no fault of her own. Her prior family loved her deeply but lived in a mobile home park where the outdoor area simply couldn’t be secured properly. Ellie figured out how to slip out of the yard—not to roam, but to stand just on the other side as if to show she could. With concerns about her safety, pressure from property management, and the inability to afford the fencing needed to keep her secure, they made the heartbreaking decision to entrust her to us so she could be placed in the safe, stable home she truly deserves.
She is naturally calm, quiet, and incredibly easy to have in the home. Ellie is not a barker at all and is content to lounge peacefully or follow her person from room to room, quietly keeping you company. She enjoys playtime but is not high energy, making her a wonderful match for someone seeking a balanced companion. She is a total snuggler and absolutely loves being held, happily settling into your arms whenever given the chance.
Ellie is house trained and does very well on a consistent schedule. Due to her small size, she is always accompanied outdoors and taken out routinely throughout the day, which has made her reliant on that structure rather than needing to ask to go outside. We recommend continuing a similar schedule in her next home, as she thrives with consistency and gentle guidance.
Leash training is new for Ellie, as her prior owners rarely took her out and would carry her when they did. With a little patience, encouragement, and positive reinforcement, she is expected to become a natural in no time. She already shows a trusting and willing nature that will make this transition smooth and rewarding.
She is crate trained and currently sleeps peacefully in her crate throughout the night, doing wonderfully without issue. That said, if her future family prefers a bed beside theirs—or even a spot in bed with them—there’s no doubt it would make her heart even fuller. Ellie simply wants to be close and feel safe with her people.
Ellie travels beautifully and does great on road trips around town. She absolutely adores her spa days and does wonderfully with our groomer, handling grooming with calm confidence. She gets along very well with dogs and cats alike. While she doesn’t need another dog in the home, she would be more than happy to be a sister to one if that’s the dynamic of her future family.
Ellie is set to be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped in the coming week, at which point she will officially be available for adoption. Her adoption fee is set at $1,500. If anything additional is needed at the time of her spay, such as a dental cleaning or other veterinary care, her adoption fee will be adjusted accordingly to reflect those costs. Her adoption fee covers her veterinary care, spay, vaccines, microchip, and the care she receives with us as we prepare her for the next chapter of her life.
Ellie is a truly special little soul—quiet, loving, and deeply devoted. She would make an exceptional companion for someone seeking a gentle, affectionate dog who simply wants to be close and share life at a calm, steady pace.
