Adopted on 4/13/24
Meet Ellie. She is a 3 year old purebred standard poodle. She is spayed, current on all vaccines, microchipped, and had a dental cleaning done at time of her spay.
She is house trained, and will go outside every couple of hours when needed.
She is crate trained, and currently sleeps in her crate at night only. She would be easy to transition over to a dog bed if that's preferred over a crate in the next home. She is doing very well on leash training, as it was brand new to her coming to us.
She lived her whole life since she was about 4 months of age in the back yard of her prior owners home. They said training her was something they couldn't commit to doing and decided keeping her outdoors was the easier option sadly, so that's where she remained until they finally decided that even with her being outside they just didn't have the time to commit to taking care of her and neglected even her grooming for tremendous periods of time. When she came to us here, she was severely matted. She had bruising all over body once the matts were safely removed. She had debree from the yard, and fecal matter embedded in her coat. It was one of the most neglected cases we have taken in, in a very long time.
The worst part? They told me they loved her so much that they struggled letting her go for an entire year before they finally decided to reach out to us here to take her in. That's what they called love, and that love was all she ever knew đŞ
Thankfully, NOW she knows what real love is, and moving forward we would LOVE to find her a human/family that will continue where we left off, and give her the life she deserved from day one.
She is a special girl, and even through the neglect she has persevered and flourished in the time we have had her here with us.
We of course, are looking for a very patent, loving, and kind human/family to commit to her as goodbyes are never easy, and hers will be a hard one.
None the less, it's a goodbye that needs to happen so she can have her happily ever after â¤ď¸
She is wonderful with all the dogs we have here, but does not need to be in a home with other dogs. She truly just needs a safe home, with a loving dedicated loyal human/family to call her own âşď¸
She is VERY sweet, but will be very shy when meeting new people, but I don't blame her for that after the family she loved her entire life mistreated her the way they did.
She does NOT have a mean bone anywhere in her body, and is a true sweetheart underneath it all. She is very Velcro and follows us everywhere now. She loves playing in the yard finally as it was a struggle in the beginning getting her to trust us that we would let her back inside so she would always opt to run outside as fast as she could to use the restroom and run back inside.
She is going to make someone a great friend, so if you have it in your heart to commit to giving Ellie the best life moving forward then please reach out to us!
Adoption fee is 2000 in total. A dental cleaning in addition to her spay was needed along with an antibiotic shot that was given to aid in her healing. She has been 100 percent vetted, and cleared by our vet and is officially available for adoption so all that's left to do from here is take over loving her â¤ď¸
Her adoption fee in full covers all of her vetting, time and care since with us, and her training.
