Meet Bobby, our handsome 2-year-and-5-month-old Cockapoo who is looking for his forever home. ❤️
Born April 18, 2024, Bobby is fully grown at just under 20 pounds, giving him such a great in-between size—not too small and not too big. He’s sturdy enough for everyday adventures and playtime with other dogs while still being a wonderfully manageable size to take along wherever life leads.
Bobby came to us after his previous owner experienced the heartbreaking loss of her husband. With so many unexpected life changes following his passing, she needed to move in with her daughter and grandchildren, where there were already other dogs in the home. She loved Bobby very much and ultimately felt that everything changing around him wasn’t the life she wanted for him. She reached out to us so that we could give him some stability while finding the loving family and forever home he deserved.
When Bobby arrived, his coat was significantly matted and unfortunately couldn’t be saved. His previous owner had been going through an incredibly difficult season in her life, and his grooming needs had simply gotten away from her. Our groomer gave Bobby a fresh start and took his coat down short, and his beautiful Cockapoo coat is already growing back in. With routine brushing and professional grooming moving forward, he’ll have all of that fluffy hair back before long.
Bobby can be a little shy when he first meets someone new, but he’s really more observant than anything. He simply likes a moment to take you in, figure out who you are, and become familiar with you. He warms up quickly, and once you become his person, he will love you with absolutely everything he has to give. He’s a very sweet, happy boy who gets genuinely excited when he sees us walking through the door.
His overall demeanor is quiet and serene, and he isn’t a barker. He’s also not a high-energy dog. Bobby loves his walks and enjoys being included in whatever his people are doing outside of the home, but he’s equally content spending a lazy afternoon lounging around with you for as long as you’d like.
Bobby is wonderful with other dogs and has done beautifully with the different personalities and sizes he’s encountered while with us. He is house trained and does wonderfully about going outside when asked. He’s also great on road trips and around town, making him such an easy little companion to bring along.
At night, Bobby sleeps peacefully through the entire night in his crate. He’s very comfortable with his bedtime routine, but I could absolutely see him transitioning to sleeping on a dog bed beside his future owner if that’s where they would eventually prefer him to be.
He is wonderful at the groomers as well, which will be important throughout his life. Regular brushing and professional grooming will need to remain part of his routine to keep his coat healthy and comfortable.
Bobby received a wonderful overall examination with our veterinarian and is fully vetted. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $2,000, which helps cover all of his veterinary care, neuter, microchip, vaccinations, professional grooming, training, and the time and care invested in him while with us as we prepared him for his forever home. ❤️
