Meet Milo 🩵
There are dogs who quietly blend into the background, and then there are dogs like Milo, who somehow make every day a little brighter simply by being themselves. Around here, we lovingly call him the “Sheriff of the Pack,” and once you spend even a few minutes with him, you’ll understand exactly why.
Milo is a beautiful purebred Yorkshire Terrier born on July 2, 2024, making him 2 years old. He currently weighs right above 8 lbs, and yes, he is full grown and at a very healthy weight
For such a tiny little dog, Milo has a personality that fills the room. He absolutely loves playing with the other dogs, but he also seems to believe it’s his personal responsibility to keep everyone in line. If playtime starts getting a little too rough, you’ll often catch Milo trotting over to remind everyone to settle down… or at least take the wrestling match somewhere else. The funny part is that he usually wants to join in himself. It’s impossible not to laugh at his little “sheriff” personality, and it’s one of the many reasons everyone who meets him falls in love.
While he certainly has confidence, he’s also incredibly affectionate. He loves attention, enjoys being part of whatever you’re doing, and forms such a wonderful companionship with his people. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or heading out for the day, Milo is happiest simply being included.
One of the greatest gifts about adopting Milo is that all of the hard puppy work has already been done. He is completely house trained, crate trained, and has wonderful manners inside the home. He currently sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate but would easily transition to a dog bed beside yours—or curled up in bed with you if that’s the life you envision together. Since he’s well beyond the puppy stage, he can be trusted to simply relax nearby while you go about your day. He doesn’t need constant supervision or endless entertainment. He’s simply content being with the people he loves.
Milo truly enjoys getting out and experiencing life. Walks are one of his favorite parts of the day, and his adventurous little spirit shines every time he heads out the door. He walks beautifully on leash and absolutely loves exploring the world around him.
Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a weekend adventure, or a cross-country road trip, Milo is always ready to hop in the car. He travels exceptionally well and makes an amazing little travel companion.
He is wonderful with other dogs and cats alike and settles beautifully into his surroundings. He isn’t a barker and very rarely alerts to unfamiliar noises anymore because he’s become so comfortable and confident in everyday life. Grooming appointments are equally easy for him, and he handles them like the little gentleman he is.
Milo came to us through absolutely no fault of his own. His owner made the heartbreaking decision to move out of state to care for her sick mother. Although loving family members stepped in to care for both boys, she knew they deserved homes where they could once again have families devoted entirely to them. Trusting us to find that for them was one of the hardest decisions she ever had to make, and we intend to honor that trust by finding Milo the home he truly deserves.
On August 11, 2026, Milo was neutered, brought current on all vaccinations, microchipped, received a dental cleaning to remove some mild tartar, was dewormed, and underwent a thorough examination by our veterinarian and has offically been cleared for adoption.
Milo is the kind of dog who will make you smile every single day. He’ll keep the squirrels in line, supervise the household, happily accompany you on every adventure, and then curl up beside you at the end of the day completely convinced his most important job is simply loving his family.
His adoption fee is $2,000. His adoption fee helps cover his neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, dental cleaning, deworming, complete veterinary examination and medical clearance, along with the months of care, training, socialization, love, and preparation he has received while in our care to ensure he is ready for the wonderful family he deserves.
