Meet Ellie 🩷
Ellie is a beautiful little Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix who was born April 3, 2026, and she truly is as sweet as pie. 🩷
Currently weighing just 4 pounds, Ellie is still a tiny little thing with some growing left to do. We expect her to mature somewhere around 8–9 pounds full grown, but what she lacks in size she already makes up for with the enormous amount of love packed inside her little body.
Ellie is one of those puppies who becomes connected to her people so naturally. She loves knowing where you are, following you from room to room, and simply being included in whatever the day brings. She is a happy little shadow who genuinely enjoys being near her people. Whether you’re moving around the house getting things done, heading out for a drive, or settling in for the evening, Ellie is happiest knowing she gets to be right there with you.
She loves everyone she meets and has been absolutely wonderful with dogs and cats. She has such a sweet, social little spirit and is at a beautiful age where she is still discovering the world around her and learning what life with her forever family will look like.
Ellie and her brother came to us from a family who owned both of their parents. Their female became pregnant before she was able to be spayed and ultimately had a very small litter—just these two little ones.
Of course, the family fell in love with them. 🩷 Their original plan was to keep both puppies and simply grow their family a little more. Unfortunately, sometimes our hearts make plans before life reminds us of what is realistically possible, and a change in their financial circumstances eventually made caring for two additional dogs more than they could responsibly take on long-term.
They reached out to us for help finding Ellie and her brother the wonderful homes they deserved 🩷
Their story also gave us an opportunity to make sure their parents would never find themselves in this situation again. We were able to have both mom and dad spayed and neutered, allowing their family to continue loving and caring for the dogs they already had while ensuring there would never be another unexpected litter.
And now it is simply Ellie’s turn. 🩷
For such a young puppy, she is already doing beautifully with her training. Ellie is crate trained and does wonderfully having that familiar little space when needed.
We have also started introducing her to walks around our home so she can gradually become accustomed to her harness, leash, and the idea of following her person while exploring the world around her. She has been doing very well with those introductions and continues gaining confidence as she goes.
Her house training is also coming along wonderfully. Because Ellie is only 4 pounds right now, she is always accompanied when she goes outdoors. She is simply too tiny at this stage for us to send outside unattended. Keeping her on a good, consistent potty schedule will be important in her new home while she continues learning, but she already has a wonderful foundation in place.
She is great at bath time and already loves hopping in the car for little road trips around town. 🚗🩷 She really is the kind of little girl who doesn’t care nearly as much about where you’re going as she does about the fact that she gets to go there with you.
Medically, Ellie has been thoroughly evaluated by our veterinarian and received a wonderful overall physical examination. She is current on all age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped, and had a fecal sample sent to the laboratory that cleared her of all parasites. Our veterinarian also sent her home with a health certificate, which will accompany Ellie and all of her medical records to her adopting family.
Ellie is not yet spayed. At her young age and tiny size, we want to give her body the opportunity to continue growing and fully maturing before sterilization. She will therefore go home on a spay contract, requiring her adopting family to have her spayed once she has reached the appropriate age and physical maturity.
More than anything, we are looking for someone who isn’t simply falling in love with the adorable 4-pound puppy Ellie is today, but who is ready to love and guide the dog she is still becoming.
She needs a family willing to continue the beautiful foundation she already has, to keep working on her house training and leash skills, continue her socialization, maintain a consistent routine, and be mindful of just how tiny she currently is.
In return, they are getting one truly special little girl.
Ellie is affectionate, social, eager to learn, wonderful with other animals, happy to meet new people, already becoming a wonderful little traveler, and deeply connected to those she loves.
She truly is a doll looking for a good home to flourish and grow in, so she can somehow become even greater than she already is. 🩷
Ellie’s adoption fee is $1,800 and helps cover the care that has gone into preparing her for her forever home, including her veterinary examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, laboratory fecal testing, health certificate, daily care, grooming, socialization, and the training foundation we have begun with her.
Now all this sweet little girl needs is someone whose shadow she gets to be for the rest of her life. 🩷🐾
