Meet Mopsy 🩷
There is something incredibly special about a little dog who walks into a room already knowing exactly who she is, and Mopsy is absolutely that girl. 🤍
Mopsy is a beautiful white Scottish Terrier who will celebrate her 4th birthday on November 6th, and if we had to describe her in just a few words, they would be confident, intelligent, loyal, outgoing, and wonderfully independent. She carries herself with that unmistakable Scottie confidence, and watching her confidently navigate the world around her is such a beautiful thing.
Mopsy came to us alongside her young daughter, Pippy. Their family initially reached out wanting us to spay Mopsy while we took Pippy into our rescue to find her a home. But after thinking through what life would look like moving forward, they made the incredibly difficult decision to allow Mopsy to come with us as well.
It wasn’t because she wasn’t loved.
It was because they realized that love also means recognizing when you simply don’t have the time to give a dog everything she deserves.
Rather than have Mopsy spend the years ahead fitting into the small spaces left over in a busy young family’s life, they chose to give her the opportunity to become an important part of someone else’s.
And we think there is something incredibly selfless about that. 🩷
Now Mopsy gets to be the princess in her own story.
She does NOT need to be adopted with her daughter, and truthfully, we would love to see each of these girls have the opportunity to shine individually and form their own beautiful relationships with their future families.
Mopsy is already fully house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She is smart, attentive, eager to learn, and carries herself with a confidence that makes her an absolute joy to have around.
And then there are the beds. 😂
Apparently Mopsy has never met a dog bed she didn’t believe belonged exclusively to her. Big bed? Hers. Little bed? Also hers. Someone else’s bed? Definitely hers. 😂 Give this girl something soft and cozy and she will sink right into it, settle herself in, and look at you as though she has just taken possession of the property.
For all of her independence and confidence, Mopsy is also an absolute love. She is loyal to her people and has that wonderful quality where she doesn’t need to be unsure of herself to be deeply connected to you. She has a personality all her own, and we have a feeling the person who falls in love with her is going to fall HARD.
Over the coming weeks, Mopsy will complete all of her veterinary care with us. Once she is fully vetted, recovered, and officially cleared by our veterinarian, she will be ready to begin the next chapter of her life.
We anticipate that being within approximately the next month to month and a half, depending entirely on her veterinary schedule and what our veterinarian feels is best for her.
Her adoption fee will be $2,000 and will help cover her individual veterinary care and everything that goes into preparing Mopsy for the life ahead of her. We will update her listing with her exact weight and complete veterinary information as those appointments are completed.
For nearly four years, Mopsy has been someone’s dog.
Now we want her to become someone’s girl. 🥹🩷
The one whose bed is waiting in the corner. The one whose leash hangs by the door. The one whose little white face someone looks forward to coming home to every single day.
She has so much personality, loyalty, confidence and love wrapped inside that beautiful little Scottie body.
Mopsy’s first story brought her to us.
