Born on 2/2/25, meet Miette (pronounced mee-YET) — a tiny 4.4 lb Pomeranian girl whose name means “little crumb” in French. A term of endearment for something small, delicate, and precious… and it could not suit her more perfectly.

Already full grown at just about 4–5 lbs, Miette is the definition of a heart dog — the kind who doesn’t just sit near you, but wants to be as close to your heartbeat as possible. She doesn’t take up much space physically, but she fills a room with her quiet presence.

Her previous owner was a young woman who went off to college. Her father lovingly stepped in to care for her, but with his busy schedule he knew she deserved the kind of companionship she once had — someone home more often, someone to dote on her, someone whose lap she could claim without hesitation. Wanting her to have that closeness again, he made the selfless and loving decision to entrust her to us so we could find her a home where she would once again be someone’s constant companion.

Miette is incredibly sweet and soft in nature. She is not a barker. She is not high-strung. She carries herself with a gentle calmness that makes you instinctively lower your voice around her. She adores belly rubs and will nudge you ever so lightly with her tiny nose for more while she rolls onto her back and stretches all four paws up onto your chest — as if she is claiming the spot closest to your heart. It’s not dramatic. It’s not demanding. It’s simply her way of loving you.

She thrives in companionship. She is a true lap dog who loves to be near her person — whether that’s curled up beside you on the couch, riding along on a road trip within arm’s reach, or resting peacefully beside you while you work. She isn’t needy, but she absolutely blossoms when she is pampered and doted on. The more love you give, the more she gives right back.

Miette is pad trained, as that worked best in her prior home due to schedules and her petite size. Since being with us, she has had both options and actually prefers to go outside to potty (always supervised due to wildlife). She is adaptable and transitions beautifully when given gentle guidance.

She is wonderful with other dogs and cats alike — polite, calm, and respectful. She does beautifully at the groomer and is accustomed to regular coat maintenance. She handles being brushed and pampered with quiet trust. She truly enjoys the attention.

At night, she would happily sleep in bed with you, tucked under the covers, or nearby in a crate if that is your preference. What matters most to her is proximity — being close enough to feel safe and connected.

Her adoption fee is $2000. It covers her veterinary care which includes her spay, vaccines, dental cleaning and baby teeth extractions, her microchip/registration, along with the months of care, grooming costs, and training we have done with her.

Miette is beautifully tempered, emotionally intuitive, and deeply affectionate in the gentlest way. She would do best in a home that appreciates a quiet companion — someone who understands that while she is tiny, her loyalty and love are anything but small.
