Meet our beautiful little Nori 🩷

Nori is a purebred Miniature Schnauzer born August 21, 2023, and she may very well be one of the tiniest little Schnauzers you will ever meet! She is full grown and estimated to be somewhere around 5–7 lbs. We will have her exact weight once she goes in for her upcoming spay appointment, but there is no more growing left for this little lady—she truly is just a tiny girl wrapped up in an equally sweet little personality. 🩷

Nori came to us after her previous family reached a point where they simply could no longer financially provide the care she deserved. Rather than allow her to go without or wait until circumstances became more difficult, they reached out to us and asked if we could take her in. We are always grateful when someone recognizes that their circumstances have changed and chooses to put their dog’s needs first, and that decision brought this precious little girl to us.

Nori will be spayed within the next couple of weeks and will not leave us until all of her veterinary care has been completed. She will be current on her yearly vaccines, microchipped, thoroughly examined by our veterinarian and medically cleared for adoption. If our veterinarian finds that she needs anything additional while she is under our care, whether that is a dental cleaning or anything else necessary for her health and well-being, it will be taken care of prior to adoption.

We want her new family to receive her knowing we have done everything necessary to give her the healthiest start possible in this next chapter of her life.

Personality-wise, Nori is just an absolute little angel.

She is incredibly laid back, quiet, easygoing and content. She isn’t a high-energy little dog who constantly needs to be entertained or kept busy. She genuinely seems happiest simply being wherever her people are. If we are sitting at our desk working, you can usually find Nori curled up peacefully at our feet. If we are relaxing in the living room, she is more than happy to climb into a lap and settle in. If you’re moving around the house, she is perfectly content just being part of your day.

She doesn’t ask for much. She doesn’t demand attention. She isn’t constantly trying to make herself the center of everything happening around her. Nori simply loves companionship, and there is something incredibly endearing about a dog whose greatest happiness seems to come from just knowing she is near the people she loves. 🩷

She is not a barker and is remarkably quiet. Of course, every dog is capable of vocalizing when there is a reason to, but Nori is not one who spends her day barking at every sound, movement or passerby. Her natural demeanor is peaceful and serene, and that carries over beautifully into the home.

Nori is also wonderful with everyone she meets, including children. 🩷 She has such a sweet, accepting nature and genuinely enjoys people. For such a tiny little girl, she moves through life with a wonderful ease about her.

She is house trained and goes outside when asked. Because of her exceptionally small size and the wildlife where we live, Nori is ALWAYS accompanied outside here. We never simply open the door and leave a dog this tiny unattended outdoors. Because she has become accustomed to us taking her outside periodically throughout the day, her potty schedule in her new home will naturally depend on her family’s routine. Keeping her on a consistent schedule while she transitions will make it very easy for her to understand what her new normal looks like.

She is also crate trained and does beautifully overnight. Nori settles peacefully into her crate, sleeps quietly throughout the entire night and waits until morning to be let out. There is no crying or carrying on, she understands that nighttime means bedtime.

That certainly doesn’t mean she has to remain a crate sleeper forever. If her new family would rather give her a cozy little bed of her own, we believe she could transition beautifully. And if you happen to be one of those people who believes your dog belongs tucked into bed beside you, Nori would probably be perfectly happy with that arrangement too. At 5–7 lbs, it’s not exactly like she’s going to steal half the mattress. 😂🩷

She is leash trained and absolutely loves going for walks. While Nori may be tiny, she still enjoys getting outside, exploring and taking a stroll with her person. She is also great on road trips, making her the kind of little companion who can easily be included in life’s adventures rather than always being left behind.

Grooming is another area where this girl shines. She LOVES being groomed and is excellent on the grooming table for my groomer. Anyone familiar with Schnauzers knows that grooming will remain an important part of her lifelong care, so having a dog who already accepts and enjoys the process is such a wonderful bonus. She is accustomed to being handled and knows how to behave beautifully while being pampered.

Nori could fit into so many different lifestyles because she simply isn’t a complicated little dog.

She would be wonderful for someone who wants a companion to curl up beside them while they work from home. She could be equally happy with someone who enjoys taking leisurely walks, going for drives and bringing their little sidekick along for the day. She could settle into a family environment where she is included and loved, or absolutely flourish being someone’s special little girl and constant companion.

What matters most to us isn’t finding the busiest home or the home promising the most adventures. Nori doesn’t need any of that to be happy.

She needs love. She needs companionship. She needs someone who understands that while she may only take up a few pounds of physical space, she deserves to occupy a very permanent place within their life. 🩷

She is sweet. She is loving. She is quiet. She is incredibly easygoing. She is already house trained, crate trained and leash trained. She travels beautifully, behaves wonderfully for grooming, loves children and everyone else she meets, and possesses the kind of calm temperament that makes living alongside her feel effortless.

She is simply a very happy little girl who wants to love and be loved.

And somewhere out there is the person or family who is going to look down one day and find this tiny black-and-white Schnauzer curled up at their feet and wonder how something so little became such a big part of their life. 🩷

Nori’s adoption fee is $2,000.

Her adoption fee helps cover the veterinary care she will receive prior to adoption, including her spay, yearly vaccines, microchip, complete veterinary examination and medical clearance, along with any additional care our veterinarian determines she needs, such as a dental cleaning. It also helps offset the months of daily care, grooming, training and continued love and attention she has received, and will continue to receive, while she waits for the family lucky enough to call her their own. 🩷
